Hello and welcome, I’m Lauren.
A little bit about me.
Growing up, I was always rearranging my bedroom furniture. As a teen with a job, I saved my money to make my dream bedroom: a Hawaiian themed oasis. I made it my own and added every little detail to make it a sanctuary for me. I even decorated my walk in closet with framed pictures on the walls and cute trinkets hanging around. Before I knew who Marie Kondo was, I had known what it was like to have my space spark joy. Years later as a mom with two little boys, my husband and I had bought our first home. I had lost sight of how it felt to have a space I loved. I was drowning in clutter in a home that did not feel tranquil. At one point I even had two pianos. No one in my family even plays the piano! I was always trying to leave the house and take my boys to museums, parks, hiking trails- anything to get us out of the house. In the 2020 pandemic, I was forced to deal with my home. I had known about the KonMari Method® for a few years at this point. I had read her book and dabbled through a few categories, but I was dedicated this time. I went full force into taking back my home and my life. It was life-changing. I’m able to enjoy the things I love most: being with my family, watching my garden grow, and making fresh baked sourdough bread. I became a certified KonMari organizing consultant to help others reclaim the life they dream of having by keeping what sparks joy.
“Life truly begins after you have put your house in order.”
- Marie Kondo, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”
The process I use to help my clients is simple and straightforward. First and foremost, your home is a no judgment space! We always start with the easiest categories first and move on to the more difficult categories: Clothing, Books, Komono (miscellaneous), and Sentimental. First, I take my clients through what is called their “tidying festival”- a process of completing these 5 categories. Then once they have completed their festival, we are able to see how they use their new space. We create more permanent methods of organization based off of how they live in their home.
